There's a lot of cattery's nowadays...what separates our cattery?
Aside from how much love our cats get, plain and simple:
OUR CATS LOOK WILD!
Hi Everyone! Thanks for visiting "Domestic Wild Cats!"
We are a TICA Registered Cattery (The International Cat Asssociation)
My name is Taran. I'm not necessarily your average "cat" lover...I'd say I'm more of a "wild cat" lover (lions, tigers, cheetahs, servals, jungle cats, lynx, etc). My husband loves the wild cat hybrid too, since these cats usually are hypoallergenic ~ with the least problems for you guys with allergies! (remember, NO animals are 100% hypoallergenic)
My husband and I decided to start our own lil' house cattery. We love animals and adore kittens. We'll be focusing on Savannah cats.
All our cats live, eat, and sleep with us. They roam around the house and live better lives than most humans. We keep our cattery small. Our cats are well socialized, they believe they're human, look very wild and can act wild too ~ but are harmless. Basically our cats look like they live in Africa, but act like a typical dog (enjoy car rides, walks on leashes, playing with us, are very vocal, and extremely funny/entertaining).
* WE DO NOT SELL WILD ANIMALS. NO WILD CATS ARE ALLOWED IN CALIFORNIA, without a permit.

Feel free to call me and I'm happy to tell you all about them! (562) 233-0315
This is "JQ" and "Paisley"...the latest additions to our indoor jungle family...#3 coming soon! :)

What is a Savannah?
The Savannah is a rare hybrid breed resulting from crossing a WILD AFRICAN SERVAL with a domestic cat (usually a Bengal, or an actual Savannah to attain a higher Serval percentage).
The demand for Savannahs is high across the globe, due to (1)people want something that looks wild and beautiful, but acts tame and loving enough to live with a human family (2)it is extremely difficult to have a domestic breed with a Serval and even more a miracle to have healthy offspring (gestation periods are different, resulting in premature births), and (3)they are priced so high making everyone want that "expensive" pet...think of it like that rare Ferrari car you see once a year amongst a million other cars (we all wish we could have one!)
This new breed got it's name from the African grasslands where the SERVAL originates. Seeing a SAVANNAH will often take your breath away. They are fantastically beautiful. We're so used to seeing "cats" look like "cats"; then we see something so mesmerizing ~ the Savannahs have spotted and striped coats and tremendous colors. They often have a long neck, longer legs, and can have longer ears. The bigger Savannah males have been known to reach 25 pounds.
We've spent lots of time with both a female and a male SERVAL. They were extraordinary and we loved them dearly. But they did have as many cons as pros. To make a long story short, a SAVANNAH has all the pros of a Serval, without the cons...I highly recommend one :)
